Do Not Miss This Whimsical Art Exhibit That Was Inspired by Real Memories and Places

There is nothing quite like an evening spent at the art gallery. View art from across the East Coast and Midwest at Collected & Gathered, a new exhibition now on display at the Lark & Key Gallery and Boutique. The exhibit opens early August will be on view through September 29th.

‘Collected & Gathered’ is a mixed media group exhibit featuring new works by Janet Eskridge, Bridgette Guerzon Mills and Deborah G. Rogers, with guests Leah Mulligan Cabinum and Colleen Riley. Using a variety of mediums, each artist gathers their materials to capture moments, memories, and physical attributes of the world around them.

Working from her home in Lincoln, Nebraska, assemblage artist Janet Eskridge creates tiny worlds to enter and explore using old boxes, found objects and encaustic. Bridgette Guerzon Mills, a Towson, Maryland based artist, incorporates photo transfers, paper, fibers and objects found in nature, to give depth to her organic, melancholy paintings. Self-taught ceramic artist and Norfolk, Virginia resident Deborah G. Rogers hand-sculpts charming, narrative pieces, using air-dry clay decorated with her distinct drawing style, that express and communicate her ideas, questions, and pent up opinions of the world around her.

Guest artist, Leah Mulligan Cabinum, lives and works in rural York, South Carolina. Focused primarily on large scale installation art, varied materials and techniques support the cyclical theme that is ever present in her work. Our guest potter, Colleen Riley, strives to create functional pieces that are elegant, yet comfortable for use and inviting to the touch. Her handmade pots reflect the landscape surrounding her home in Farmington, Minnesota.

The exhibit will be on view during regular gallery hours (Tuesday-Saturday 11-5) through September 29th, 2018. Don’t miss your chance to see it today!
